¡At Bodegas Bagordi we´re in luck!!

Our 100% Graciano crianza has been awarded the highest recognition, the Gold Medal, in the organic wine competition that takes place at of the most important ecological wine fair in the world, Millésime Bio.

More than 1000 wineries from all over the world have participated in the fair, presenting more than 1,400 wines to the contest. Only 10 red wines from Spain have achieved the maximum recognition, being our Bagordi Graciano Crianza 2014 one of them. The Challenge Millésime Bio competition, organized by the Interprofessional Association of Organic Wines of the Languedoc-Roussillon Sudvinbio, is a highly competitive and rigorous contest, of recognized prestige in the wine industry. That´s why we´re extremely proud of the GOLD Medal obtained.

The jury is chaired by a recognized and prestigious professional and its members are expert wine buyers (sommeliers, marketers, importers, …), winemakers and specialized journalists. The samples are presented anonymously and the tasting is carried out blindly.

 

Bagordi Graciano Crianza 2014

The grapes from our older Graciano vines were cultivated following best organic practice. As a result, this wine is special given that it combines the character of this grape with the features of the local soil and climate. The wine has benefited from twelve months ageing (the Crianza process) in barrels of French oak, followed by a further period of ageing and settling in bottles. This elegant wine has an appealing colour characterised by an intense violet hue especially obvious in the case of the teardrop.

 

Tasting

Visual: Notable for its intense deep blackberry / cherry colour. Stable at the edges.
Nasal: Agreeable nose. Attractive flavour of fruit compote. (blackberry, blackcurrant, blueberry) with hints of balsamic and ending with the aroma of ground coffee.
Taste: Juicy, prolonged and persistent. The pronounced tannins are matched by the toasted flavours redolent of good barrel age. All of which contributes to allowing the fruit flavours to be the protagonist.
